We are delighted to have Martin Hook as our Technical Director. There may be a few people in the UK who understand more about heat pumps than Martin but not many! Martin trained as a development engineer and has worked with most of the major heat pump manufacturers. He specialises in designing, building and testing heat pump systems.

In the last couple of years he has designed, patented and built both an air source and a water source heat pump. He tested and monitored the performance of the Sanyo CO2 unit for the UK market. He has designed and specified many systems for The Landmark Trust including the award winning system at Woodspring Priory. He has worked closely with installation companies so has first-hand experience of the practical day to day issues which may arise. He installs and tests new technology at his own home so that he has a comprehensive understanding of how these systems work in the real world and how much they actually cost to run.
